One Mother’s highlight of Mother Daughter Weekend

The weekend had not finished and my daughter declared Mother Daughter Weekend was a new tradition for us.

While reflecting on the weekend and debating the best activities, I think of the laughter while canoeing, silly faces in the photo booth, walking the beautiful camp grounds and the radiant joy of women worshiping together. I think of the crafting, Bible study, tea time and community of mothers.

What was my highlight of the weekend? What was my daughter’s highlight?

I remember chapel time, playing games, and making new friends. The memories flow to my mind.

I attempt again to determine our highlights. My list is initially different than my daughter’s list. Hmmmm, how do I choose? I reflect on the time and then it comes.

TIME

Mother Daughter Weekend provided a wide variety of choices and activities, but truly the highlight was the gift of time. We shared many moments in time. CPC provided an escape from our everyday routine with activities to bond us creating memories to last a lifetime.

My daughter declared it a new tradition, not because of the water sports, nail painting, or snack shop but because of the time that CPC helped us carve out for each other. We are forever grateful for this gift of time.
