WELCOME TO LAKE GENEVA YOUTH CAMP!

Dear Parents:

We are looking forward to seeing your camper this summer in what will be a life-changing experience!   Lake Geneva Youth Camp provides a wonderful environment of discovery that kids love. LGYC is a place surrounded by God's beautiful creation, filled with intense fun and packed with real life experiences and relationships that will draw him closer to God!

There will be opportunities to ride the 300 foot double Zipline, experience the indoor climbing wall, team up for paintball, ride the banana boat, sing and worship with praise bands, enjoy messages and skits, and participate in creative games and fun activities.

Much has changed since our first summer in 1950.   One thing that remains constant is our commitment to help youth enter into a relationship with Jesus and experience His love as they build a closer walk with God.

Your child will have a blast this summer while growing in ways that last a lifetime! See you soon!

PARENT INFORMATION:

Campers love to get letters from home!   Send your camper positive letters encouraging them to learn their verses, do a project in Handcraft, hold an animal in the Nature Center, experience the Zipline, and make new friends. You may not hear from your camper all week because they're having too much fun! Information for writing to your camper is found in the Contact section.

Receiving packages at camp is always fun! If you're sending a package, please remember that food encourages animals and bugs. Instead, please send fun items that can be shared among the cabin of about 10 campers. Packages can be dropped off at the office during registration or mailed to your camper for delivery during the week.

The safety of your camper is important to us.  As a parent, we want you to be assured that your child will be in a safe environment while at LGYC. Each cabin of approximately 10 campers has a counselor. Many of our weeks use two counselors, one of which may be a Junior Counselor. Additional staff will be watching over campers throughout the grounds during the week.

We use only Red Cross certified lifeguards at the waterfront. To ensure safety, younger camps conduct swim tests on the first day and use the buddy system throughout the week.   Swimmers wear wristbands designating three swim levels.

Certified, trained staffers supervise the Zipline, indoor climbing wall and the low ropes course. Campers wear helmets and are securely harnessed to safety lines during their climbs.

Your camper's week is designed for his age group.  Click on the "Typical Day" and "Activities" to find out what your child may be doing during the week. The meetings, lessons, activities, meals, and schedules are all oriented around the age of the campers that week. Our Program Directors are very creative and work all year to plan an exciting and challenging camp experience for your child.

Enjoy the Canteen and experience Handcraft.  During registration, your camper's spending money will be placed in the bank and your child will be given a Money Card with his name on it. You'll want to leave spending money for the Canteen and Handcraft. The Canteen offers hot and cold snacks, LGYC clothing, post cards, souvenirs and more. Campers love the extensive selection of crafts for sale in Handcraft. Our skilled staff will ensure that your child completes his project successfully. Several of the patches earned during the week require a completed Handcraft project. Some of the projects offered are beadwork, painting plaques, leatherwork and woodcrafts.

You can play an important role in ensuring your camper will have fun!   Talk with your child about camp while anticipating the upcoming week. Be open to answering questions they may have if it's their first week away from home. Don't forget to pray for your camper during his week at camp as he explores God's Word in the beautiful setting of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

You'll enjoy hearing all about your camper's week on the trip home!
