Expectations & Training
Every summer camp leader must:
- Pass a background check
- Complete a child safety training course
- We recommend MinistrySafe
- Review our Summer Volunteer Handbook
- Read the Cabin Leader Guide (Full Packet)
- Watch our Summer Volunteer Training Video
Training Tasks 1-4 are due two weeks before camp.
Send confirmation to the Ministry Relationship Manager via email, and please indicate your church/ministry name.
The Volunteer Training Video and the Tips & Tricks Video need to be watched before you arrive, but confirmation is not required.
Before Camp Resources
We want you to feel prepared and confident before your group arrives at camp. Below, you'll find a Pre-Camp Checklist, Theme & Promotional Materials, and more.
Payment Information

Online Payment
We recommend that you and the families in your ministry make payments online via the LGYC Portal. Be sure to enter your Group Hold Registration ID.

Wristbands (Store Card)
In addition to regular camp registration, families will be able to deposit money into their camper’s account for use in the Landeck Canteen (Snack Shop) for apparel, snacks, and crafts during their days at camp. We recommend $10 - $30 for the week.
Funds may be loaded online or at check-in.

Paid Activities
In addition to the variety of activities included with registration, we offer a la carte activities that campers may want to participate in. These require advance registration and payment via the LGYC Portal.
JR HIGH 1-4 & TEEN CAMP
- Team Paintball (any experience) - $15
- Mountain Biking (Moderate/Advanced Skill Level) - $25
- only offered to JH and Teen Camps
- Morning Waterskiing/Wakeboarding (Moderate Skill Level) - $30
- Horseback Riding (Any experience - must be 7+ years old)
BOYS AND GIRLS 1-3
- Gellyball (Any experience) - $15
- only offered to B&G camps
- Team Paintball (Any experience - must be 10+ years old) - $15
- Morning Waterskiing/Wakeboarding (Moderate Skill Level) - $30
- Horseback Riding (Any experience - must be 7+ years old) - $45
PRIMARY CAMP
- No paid activities offered
Please notify your students and their families about these opportunities and remind them to register through the LGYC Portal, if they are interested.

These documents are designed to clarify expectations for your responsibilities and etiquette as a cabin leader, explain how LGYC handles different situations, and give you a glimpse of LGYC culture.
After you've read through the handbook, email a signed copy to the Ministry Relationship Manager.
After you've read through the Cabin Leader Guide: email a signed copy of the verification form to the Ministry Relationship Manager.
Final Roster is Due
Make sure all students from your group are registered in our system. Parents or guardians can do this by logging in to the LGYC Portal and using your Group Hold Registration ID.

Applications for Camper Sponsorship are Due
We are blessed by many generous donors who are committed to bringing kids to camp. Sponsorship funds are distributed based upon need. If someone in your group would like to apply for Sponsorship, please share this form with them. Submission of this application does not guarantee a Sponsorship.

The Week Before Camp
Join the "Week Before Camp Call"
As our Ministry Relationship Manager, Trevor Fox is dedicated to serving our Church Group Leaders. He will invite you to a call a few days before camp to make sure you have everything you need and to partner with you in praying for an incredible week.
What to Bring
Please share this packing list with your students and their families. See the "Parent Guidebook" below for an easy-to-share PDF.
All items should be clearly marked with the family name.
- Bible, Notebook, and Pen
- Personal Toiletries
- Sleeping Bag or Bed Sheets and Blanket
- Pillow and Pillow Case
- Towels and Wash Cloth
- Play Clothes
- Extra Shoes, Athletic Shoes
- Raincoat & Jacket
- Modest Swim Wear, NO bikinis (modesty will be at the discretion of camp staff)
- Outfits for Themed Dinners
- Bug Spray (strongly suggested)
- Sunscreen
- Flashlight or Head Lamp
- Laundry Bag
- Refillable Water Bottle
Regarding Electronic Devices
Leaders and volunteers may bring cell phones to camp, but please aim to go screen-free as much as possible. We encourage you to bring a physical Bible and alarm clock. We ask that you limit phone usage to communication with camp staff, emergencies, or other instances that may be described as appropriate, brief, and infrequent. Students should NOT bring any electronic devices to camp.
Regarding Themed Dinners
At camp, every dinner is a chance for you and your students to dress loud, match your crew, and go ALL IN!
Here is the 2026 Themed Dinner Schedule. Please share this with your students and their families so they can pack accordingly.

24 Hours Before Camp Begins
Camper Medication
Please ensure all campers and their families have completed the medication forms in the LGYC Portal. All medication needs to be in its original container inside a Ziploc bag with each student’s name written in permanent marker on the outside of the bag. Campers arriving with their families will turn medications into our Camp Nurse at check-in. If your group is arriving together (without parents), please make sure you have collected all medications before loading into vehicles to ensure a seamless process upon arrival at camp.

Check-In
For Summer Camp, Check-in Begins at 1:30 pm
If your students are arriving individually, have their parents or guardians check them in with our Registration Team at the Carrera Welcome Center.
If your group is arriving together, you as the Group Leader will need to check them in.
Reach out to or look for Trevor Fox and he can help guide you to the right destination.
If there are any balances due, they will need to be paid at check-in.
Opening Ceremony at 3:00 pm
After you have checked in and settled into your cabin, join our Program Team in the Chapel for the Official Welcome, where we will kick off camp with a Welcome Activity.

Health & Safety
Health History & Medications
Every camper needs a CURRENT Health History and Medical Form on file, which may be completed online or filled out manually and turned in to the Camp Nurse during check-in. Please share this form with your students and their families:

All medication must be turned in to the Camp Nurse during check-in.
Swim Test
Each camper will take a swim test. Wristbands are given to show the camper’s swimming level. Some activities require a higher level of swimming ability.
Visitation
For the safety of all campers, we ask that there are no visitors until the end of your camper’s week. This ensures your camper fully enjoys their distraction-free camp experience.

Media Guidelines for Churches
Bringing Your Own Equipment
You and your volunteers are welcome to bring your own cameras in order to capture the week of camp through photos and videos, as long as you abide by the following guidelines:
- Always give the LGYC Media Team the "right of way"
- Do not hinder the Program (e.g. stay off stages)
- Do not request special favors or unedited photos or videos from the LGYC Media Team
- No drones
- Do your best to only capture images of your students
Indemnification
By bringing your own media equipment, such as cameras, to camp, you and your team agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lake Geneva Ministries (LGM) from all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses related to the use, handling, transportation, or storage of equipment not owned by LGM, including personal injury, property damage, theft, or misuse.
Bringing Media Personnel
Should you be interested in bringing designated media personnel to camp who are not already registered to volunteer in another capacity, they will need to pay for their lodging and meals. Please make arrangements with our Reservation Specialist by calling the office at 262-248-5500.

Campers and leaders should NOT bring:
- Tobacco
- Alcoholic beverages
- Drugs
- Any form of weaponry
- Electronic Games

Our Three-Part Theme
Over the course of the last school year, we've explored the following theme verses:
Fall Blast 2025 – Philippians 2:3: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
Arctic Blast 2026 – Proverbs 4:23: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Now, we reach the apex of our "Above" theme journey with the following theme verse:

Parent Packet
The relationships you have with the parents and guardians of your students are vital, and we want to support you with resources that you can pass along to them. This packet gives parents helpful pre-camp information, including a packing list, patch program details, and more. Our recommendation is to pass it out both physically and via email.

You can visit our Facebook Page and your week of camp will have its own photo album. Sharing these images on social media or internally at your church is a great way to remember the impact of camp and to get excited for next year.

Your students will experience a life-changing week of intense fun and growth in Christ, and our Media Team is here to capture it. All of our recap videos can be found on our Vimeo page. Sharing these videos in emails to parents, at youth gatherings, and on Sunday mornings is a great way to remember the impact of camp and to get excited for next year.
